Internship Title: Pediatric Fellow

Internship and Organization Description:  

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and responsible fellow for a full-time position in our busy pediatric office. As a practice, we strive to provide personalized, comprehensive, family-oriented care in our community. We work as a team valuing each team member and their unique contributions. We are seeking applicants who are energetic, dependable and organized with excellent communication skills. With training, applicants will have the opportunity to support patient care and to engage with all aspects of our patient experience - from patient registration to completion of provider visit.

 

Duties:  

  • Greeting and rooming patients
  • Training to obtain vital signs
  • Vision and Hearing for patients
  • Record and maintain records in electronic medical record system
  • Laboratory assistant
  • Assist with medical supplies
  • Assist with medical document management

 

Qualifications:  

  • Professional, motivated team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Loves working with children
  • Experience with customer service

 

For this internship, what level of experience is needed?  

  • No prior professional experience required, but some working experience preferred.
  • Medical experience/certification (EMT, CNA, CMA) would allow for more involved patient encounters.

 

Internship Learning Objectives: 

  • Learn how to communicate and engage with pediatric patients of all ages and their families.
  • Learn the importance of teamwork in a medical setting.
  • Understand HIPAA and safe and effective medical documentation.
  • Understand documentation and communication within an electronic medical system.

Schedule:  

All hours must be completed within the traditional work week (M-F; 8am-5pm). Summer 2026 Full-Time: 40 hr/week from June 1st - August 7th.  Specific hours can be mutually determined by student and supervisor.
