Sales Development Representative
The TL;DR
You'll be the first voice people hear from Pursuit—a small, scrappy team fixing how government buys things. Yes, government. Hear us out.
Every year, $2 trillion in taxpayer money gets spent through a system so broken that the best companies often don't even bother competing. We're changing that. Our platform makes public procurement actually work—so the vendor who builds the best product wins, not just the one with the biggest lobbyist.
Let's be upfront: this role has volume. You'll make a lot of calls. But here's the difference—you'll use AI tools every single day to work smarter, not just harder. By the time you're ramped, you'll know how to use AI for prospecting, research, and personalization in ways most salespeople won't figure out for years. That's a skill set you'll carry for your entire career.
You'll also get real coaching, learn how to sell to actual decision-makers, and—if you're good—move into a closing role in 12-18 months.
This role is based “on-site” in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The Money (let's be real, you scrolled here first)
- $45K base + $45K bonus = $90K OTE (on-target earnings)
- Bonuses paid monthly—not dangled over you once a year
- This is real, uncapped upside. The math works if you show up and do the work.
- Unlimited PTO (and a team that actually takes it)
- Medical, dental, vision
What We're Looking For
We don't care where you went to school or if you have "sales experience." We care about:
You've done something hard and stuck with it. Captain of a team. Built something from scratch. Worked a job where you had to figure it out. Ran a side hustle. Whatever—just show us you can commit.
You're curious, not scripted. You ask why before you ask how. You'd rather understand the problem than memorize the pitch.
You take feedback and run. Not defensively. Not eventually. Fast.
You can communicate. Phone, Zoom, email, Slack—you come across clear and confident in all of them.
Why This Might Be the Move
You're not going to be a cog. We're small enough that your ideas matter and big enough to pay you well while you learn. The product is real, the mission is real, and the people here are genuinely good to work with.
If you want to learn sales at a company that won't burn you out or BS you, this is it.
