U.S. NAVY Public Affairs Officer
Position Overview
The U.S. Navy is seeking motivated, creative, and strategically minded graduates to serve as Public Affairs Officers (PAO). As a Navy PAO, you will act as the official spokesperson and senior communications advisor to Navy leadership, shaping how the Navy’s mission is communicated to the public, media, and global audiences. You will lead strategic communication efforts, manage media engagement, oversee digital and social media operations, and direct community outreach initiatives. Navy PAOs operate in dynamic environments — from shore-based commands to operational units worldwide — ensuring accurate, timely, and impactful storytelling that supports national defense and public trust.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as spokesperson to media and public audiences
• Lead media engagement and press briefings
• Manage social media and digital communication strategies
• Oversee crisis communication efforts
• Advise senior leadership on communication strategy
• Plan and execute public outreach campaigns

Minimum Qualifications
• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree (Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or related field preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eligible for security clearance
• No prior military experience required
