Biomedical Engineering Intern
Location Requirement: Candidates must live in Wisconsin or be able to commute from Illinois for the duration of the internship.
The Biomedical Engineering Intern will support cross-functional engineering initiatives in a regulated manufacturing environment. This internship is designed for a Biomedical Engineering student (or closely related major) who is interested in materials/biomaterials/bioprocess applications and wants hands-on exposure to process scale-up, continuous improvement, documentation, and quality system activities.
Duties
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems under the guidance of senior engineers
- Support system diagnostics, testing, and root cause analysis activities
- Develop and modify 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Prepare engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Analyze test data and contribute to technical reports and project summaries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing engineering projects
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input where appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Biomedical Engineering program or related engineering discipline (Junior/Senior level)
- Academic focus or coursework in BioProcess or Materials
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
