Registered Nurse (RN) – PreOp/PACU
Bronson LakeView Hospital | Full Time | 80 hours per pay period
Schedule:
Full-time position working five 8-hour shifts per week, with start times varying between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM.
Position Overview
Under general supervision and in accordance with Bronson policies, unit standards, and the Michigan Public Health Code, the Registered Nurse is responsible for managing patient care throughout the perioperative experience to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes and timely discharge.
This includes utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, coordinating care across the interdisciplinary team, delegating appropriate tasks, providing direct patient care based on acuity, and documenting patient responses and care needs.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Care Planning
- Collect and analyze comprehensive patient data
- Identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor vital signs and recognize deviations from normal
- Incorporate patient and family input into care goals
Clinical Care Delivery
- Administer medications and treatments safely
- Implement evidence-based nursing interventions
- Provide physical care appropriate to patient acuity
- Monitor patient comfort, safety, and response to treatment
Care Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Coordinate discharge planning and continuum of care needs
- Communicate patient status clearly through documentation and handoffs
Professional Practice Standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education
- Support a collaborative, respectful work environment
- Serve as a patient advocate and uphold ethical standards
Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred (must be obtained within 8 years of hire if not currently held)
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse license in good standing
- BLS certification required upon completion of orientation
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit needs

- Proficiency with clinical documentation systems

Physical & Work Requirements
This role involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer use, as well as the ability to lift or assist with moving patients and equipment as needed.
