Community Impact Intern

Job Description

Breadwinners Academy is hiring a Community Impact and Nonprofit Leadership Intern to support the delivery of financial literacy programming across schools and community sites in Northeast Ohio.

This is a paid, hands-on leadership role where you will work directly with middle and high school students while also supporting nonprofit operations behind the scenes. Interns will assist with planning and delivering financial literacy lessons, supporting classroom management, leading small group activities, and occasionally facilitating portions of lessons alongside staff.

Responsibilities include supporting the Financial Flex Academic Challenge, assisting with event logistics, tracking student attendance, collecting and organizing program data, maintaining accurate participation records, and supporting reporting efforts for grants and partners. Attention to detail is critical.

Interns will also assist with recruiting students for summer programs by visiting schools, presenting program information, distributing materials, and speaking with students about opportunities. Interns may support the student selection process by helping coordinate and participate in student interviews alongside Breadwinners Academy staff.

Applicants must have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling to school and community sites throughout the Greater Cleveland area. This role requires professionalism in classroom settings, strong communication skills, and comfort speaking in front of students.

You will gain real experience in youth engagement, nonprofit program coordination, recruitment strategy, and community impact work while developing leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills.
