Audio Visual Field Technician / Technology Support Specialist
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable, motivated AV Field Installation and Support Technician to join our team. This role focuses on installation, service, and support of Audio Visual systems and integrated technologies across multiple site locations primarily located in Northern and Central New Jersey. Daily commuting and travel to locations in Essex County, Somerset County, Middlesex County and surrounding areas will be necessary, and at times, other locations throughout the state and surrounding areas. Reliable transportation and ability to carry basic tools and support equipment, as well as a valid drivers license is a must.
This is an entry level hands-on field position with virtually unlimited opportunity for advancement and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and configuration support of AV systems in various customer facilities
Service, maintain, and repair existing technology systems
Troubleshoot technical issues and perform diagnostics
Support system upgrades and new technology deployments
Ensure equipment is fully operational and ready for daily use
Travel between campus locations as required
Provide professional and responsive service to the customer at all times
Minimum Employment Eligibility Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
High School diploma or equivalent, college or trade school education or degree a plus!
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must be reliable and punctual
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Ability to maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance
Ability to maintain a positive attitude toward work and the customer at all times, even during stressful situations.
Must possess the physical ability to access all areas of the customer facility.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to push and/or pull 100 pounds unassisted.
The ideal candidate would:
Possess general technology experience and familiarity, but willing to train an enthusiastic candidate.
Possess general ability to use basic hand tools and have basic carpentry skills
Possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Possess the ability to work independently as well as be part of a team
Be comfortable working on ladders generally ranging 8-12 feet tall, as well as scissor lifts.
Be familiar with basic hand tools including screw drivers, wire cutters, hammers, drywall saws, fish sticks, conduit snakes, shop vacs, power drills, hammer drills, impact drills, hole saws, etc.
Willingness to learn new technologies, troubleshooting and installation techniques
Have an interest in always putting the customers best interest above all else.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Frequent travel between multiple campus locations
Work is primarily done indoors, in existing finished building spaces
Schedule may vary depending on installations and service needs, but typically work hours would be M-F 7:30AM - 4:30PM.
Occasional early mornings or later evening shifts may be required
The customer maintains a smoke-free environment and all employees are required to adhere to the customers policy at all times.
