Natural Areas Restoration Technician
Locating, identifying and control of non-native invasive plant species through a variety of methods in various natural areas throughout northeastern Illinois.
Summer work generally includes the management of invasive species including pulling, cutting, and quite a bit of herbicide use. Winter work includes woody invasive clearing using chainsaws and brush saws. Reestablish native plant species from seeding and live plantings, and promote them through prescribed burning.
