Position Overview 
Ferreira Construction is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of civil and/or electrical infrastructure projects. 

The Project Engineer plays a critical technical and administrative role in supporting project delivery from preconstruction through closeout. This position works closely with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. 


This role is ideal for an early-career construction professional looking to build a strong foundation in project management, cost control, scheduling, and field coordination within a growing national infrastructure contractor. 

Key Responsibilities 
Technical & Document Control 
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents. 
- Manage submittal logs, RFIs, drawing revisions, and project documentation. 
- Track and distribute updated plans and specifications to field teams and subcontractors. 
- Assist in maintaining accurate project records and compliance documentation. 


Field Support & Coordination 
- Coordinate daily field operations with superintendents, foremen, and 
subcontractors. 
- Monitor construction progress to ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and safety standards. 
- Conduct site visits to document progress and identify potential issues. 
- Support quality control efforts and ensure conformance with project requirements. 

Cost & Schedule Support 
- Assist with quantity takeoffs and material tracking. 
- Support development and maintenance of project schedules. 
- Help track labor production, equipment usage, and material costs. 
- Assist with preparation of pay applications, change orders, and cost forecasts. 
- Analyze project data to identify schedule or budget variances. 


Estimating & Preconstruction Assistance 
- Support bid preparation and proposal development. 
- Assist in preparing time, cost, and labor estimates. 
- Participate in constructability reviews and preconstruction meetings. 
- Contribute to value engineering efforts and scope clarification. 


Communication & Problem Solving 
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical and logistical challenges. 
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal 
stakeholders. 
- Support client meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required. 
- Escalate risks and issues proactively to project leadership. 

Qualifications 
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical 
Engineering, or related field required. 
- 0–5 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination. 
- Internship or co-op experience in heavy civil, utility, energy, or infrastructure 
construction preferred. 
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications. 
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and site development 
processes.
