Intern, Global NY

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Data collection

      

WORK PERFORMED:

  1. Market Research – Research opportunities in foreign markets appropriate to New York State industries, with a particular emphasis on the strategic industries in all 10 regions.  Develop and maintain a document that includes market research findings. Use REDC reports as a basis for the strategic industries and regional plans for export promotion. 
  2. Data Collection and Analysis – Research and compile information on export trade statistics for New York State for meetings and events. 
  3. Special Projects - Assist with the development and implementation of targeted trade projects, such as case studies and development of in person and virtual events.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education level required: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in International Business, International Relations.

 

Knowledge Required: 

  • Strong internet research and basic data analysis experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present research in both written form and orally.
  • Ability to collect key information from numerous sources.
  • Good understanding of world geography.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Some knowledge of international protocol.
