Job Title: Aquatic Supervisor
Reports To: Lead Counselor - Camp Director - Board President
Location: St. Francis Camp on the Lake
Duration: May 18 - August 7, 2026
Position Overview:
St. Francis Camp on the Lake is seeking an experienced and dedicated Aquatic Supervisor to oversee all aquatic activities and ensure the safety and enjoyment of our campers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for working with campers of all ages, and the necessary certifications to manage swimming and watercraft activities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all swimming and watercraft activities at the camp.
- Ensure the safety of all campers and staff during aquatic activities by enforcing safety rules and protocols.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for staff and campers.
- Provide swim instruction and lifeguard supervision during swim times, ensuring that all participants are engaged and safe.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of all aquatic facilities and equipment.
- Develop and implement aquatic programming that promotes skill development, safety awareness, and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with camp leadership to create a positive and inclusive environment for all campers.
- Maintain accurate records of certifications, incidents, and safety checks.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Certified in American Red Cross lifeguard training, swim instruction, instructor, or instructor trainer.
- Certification in basic water rescue and small craft safety for watercraft activities.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in an aquatic setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and campers of all ages.

Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Summer Camp Counselors to join our team at St. Francis Camp on the Lake , a summer camp designed specifically for campers with special needs. Counselors will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for campers, facilitating activities, and fostering social connections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support campers with special needs in various activities and daily routines.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate and inclusive programming tailored to the abilities and interests of campers.
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that promotes personal growth, independence, and confidence.
- Assist with personal care needs as required, including but not limited to feeding, bathing, and mobility.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp staff to create a cohesive team environment.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff regarding any concerns or progress.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required; along with tasks assigned by the Camp Director.
- Model positive behavior and respect for diversity, promoting inclusivity and understanding.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with children and/or individuals with special needs is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
- A background in education, psychology, social work, or related fields is a plus.
- Pass a comprehensive background check.
