Algorithmic Execution Desk Analyst

QB is a rapidly expanding Capital Markets technology firm specializing in execution algorithms across futures, options on futures, FX, and fixed-income markets. QB’s culture is founded on excellence, thoroughness, and high standards, based on tested quantitative research. Our team is highly motivated and passionate, constantly hunting for inspired solutions to reduce implicit trading costs and manage execution risk for our clients. We value technical individuals who are detail-oriented and seek perfection in their work.

At QB, the Execution Desk is revered as a "white glove" support team that can resolve real-time issues with urgency, understand and relay market conditions on the fly, and have a deep understanding of our algorithmic suite. Desk members need to be multifaceted individuals who can switch from partnering with tech to test a new algo enhancement, discussing the differences between our algos with a client, to working with an FCM to reconcile a client's trade, all at the drop of a dime.

If the above excites you, then you may be perfect for our global team! This position is ideal for candidates looking to expand market and technical knowledge through electronic and algorithmic trading system support. We have a strong desk presence in NY, London, and Sydney and we are looking to build on this.

Required Skills:

  • Strong personal interest in financial markets; ideally general market knowledge (VWAP/TWAP, order types, volatility)
  • Ability to handle pressure while troubleshooting a real-time trading system
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to relay information between technical and non-technical individuals

Suggested / Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a global, 24-hour electronic trading support team
  • Knowledge of exchange-traded futures and interest rates
  • Linux command line skills (trace logs, update configs, investigate host utilization, troubleshooting skills)
  • Working knowledge of FIX and ability to perform FIX Certifications
  • Knowledge of electronic trading systems
  • Experience working in a trading or IT environment
  • Experience working with tick, trade, and order databases
  • Experience working with algorithmic trading
