Tumbling Instructors (Ages 18+)

Rocket City Tumbling Academy is coming to Huntsville in Spring 2026! We are seeking confident, energetic, and reliable Tumbling Instructors (ages 18+) to lead structured tumbling classes for athletes of various ages and skill levels. 

This role is designed for mature coaches who can independently run high-quality classes while maintaining safety, strong classroom management, and athletic engagement. Instructors are expected to model professionalism and contribute to a supportive, high-energy team environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead assigned tumbling classes independently
  • Conduct warm-ups, drills, and skill progression 
  • Maintain class control and positive student engagement
  • Provide age-appropriate corrections and encouragement 
  • Troubleshoot athlete skill progressions
  • Setup and clean up equipment before and after classes
  • Communicate professionally with parents as needed
  • Follow all RCTA safety policies and coaching standards
  • Support weekend events such as Parent Night Out, Open Gyms, Birthday Parties, and Special Events  
     

Qualifying Classes and Events

  • Tiny Tumblers, Ages 3-6
  • Children’s Beginners & Adv. Beginners
  • Children’s Intermediate & Advance
  • Open Gyms
  • Parents Night Out
  • Birthday Parties

 

Wages and Hours for Instructors

  • $12.00 – $16.00 per hour, dependent on years of experience, availability, and performance
  • Part-Time schedule with 8 to 16 coaching hours per week
  • Additional hours through rotating weekend shifts for open gyms and parties
  • Ability to offer private lessons to athlete during off-shifts
  • Ability to pick up additional classes when other teammates are absent

 

Requirements 

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Prior tumbling, cheer, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, or related experience
  • Comfortable leading groups of children, teens, and/or adults
  • Demonstrated maturity and reliability 
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Positive, coachable attitude 
  • Ability to earn and maintain a CPR/First Aid certification upon hire
  • Ability to earn and maintain a USAG Recreational Coach Membership upon hire 
  • Employment is contingent upon Background Check conducted by USAGymnastics
