Social Media and Marketing Intern
Marketing Intern (Make This Role Your Own)
Location: Northern Virginia
Schedule: Part-Time (10–20 hours/week)
Compensation: Paid (Hourly)
Flexible around class schedules
This Isn’t a “Get Coffee” Internship.
We’re a fast-growing, locally owned service business looking for a Marketing Intern who wants real experience — not busywork.
If you’ve got ideas, energy, and the confidence to try things (and occasionally fail while learning), this role can become as big as you make it.
You won’t be running ads or managing SEO.
You will be on the ground capturing the real story of a growing company in action.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Community & Event Marketing
Attend local events, sponsorships, and community activities
Represent the brand professionally in public settings
Make sure we show up consistently and visibly in the community
📸 Content Capture
Capture photos and short videos of:
Technicians in the field
Community events
Branded trucks and equipment
Behind-the-scenes moments
Help organize and upload media so it’s usable and searchable
Make sure we’re documenting our growth — not guessing about it later
Content Support
Contribute ideas for:
Social media content
Website galleries
Internal culture content
Coordinate with our team to ensure events are documented consistently
Note: This role does NOT include managing ads, analytics, SEO, or strategy. This is hands-on field marketing and brand documentation. BUT… we are open to your ideas!
Administrative Support
Help coordinate schedules and event logistics
Assist with internal communications
Support both marketing and operations teams when needed
We’re a growing business — which means sometimes you jump in and help where needed. That’s part of learning how real companies run.
What We’re Looking For
Organized and dependable (if you say you’ll be there, you’re there)
Detail-oriented
Comfortable using a smartphone or camera for photos and video
Willing to attend some evening or weekend events
Strong communicator
Comfortable with Google Docs, Sheets, and basic office tools
Interested in marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, or small business
Bonus Points
Photography or video editing experience
Familiar with Canva, CapCut, or simple editing apps
Previous office, admin, or customer-facing experience
What You’ll Gain
Real-world marketing experience (not theory)
Exposure to how a growing service business actually operates
Hands-on event marketing experience
Direct mentorship
The opportunity to shape this role and grow it
Potential pathway to future employment
Who This Is Perfect For
A marketing or communications student who wants experience beyond the classroom
Someone entrepreneurial who wants to understand how local businesses grow
A self-starter who sees gaps and fills them
Someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do
If you want a resume line, this probably isn’t for you.
If you want experience that actually matters, let’s talk.
