What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a high-taste, high-output visual producer who can build bold visual content that also drives conversion. We are looking for someone who can combine strong visual authorship with growth thinking.
You should be able to:
- translate artistic and conceptual ideas into visually distinctive content
- create strong platform-ready assets quickly
- understand how visual choices affect engagement, clicks, submissions, and audience behavior
- work with a serious cultural brand without flattening it into generic marketing
You do not need a formal arts degree, but you must have excellent visual judgment, strong execution skills, and the ability to work across concept, design, and conversion.
Required: Strong Visual Design Ability
This role requires advanced visual design skills.
Applicants must demonstrate:
- strong composition, typography, and layout control
- concept-driven visual thinking (not template-only design)
- platform-ready execution for social content (carousel, story, poster, motion-ready assets, etc.)
- the ability to maintain a clear visual language across a series
We are especially interested in people with bold, imaginative visual instincts who can build work that feels original, culturally sharp, and highly shareable.
The Mission (Early Stage)
In the next phase, ELSEHERE is scaling from strong programs into consistent public visibility and conversion.
Your work will directly shape:
- how ELSEHERE is perceived (visual language, clarity, credibility, aesthetic authority)
- how our programs circulate (strong assets for distribution across channels and partners)
- how effectively we convert attention into outcomes (applications, follows, newsletter sign-ups, community joins, paid participation)
You will work directly with the founder to turn strategy into weekly visual and campaign execution.
The Role
You will help drive ELSEHERE’s growth through visual production, content packaging, and conversion-oriented creative execution.
1) Visual Production for Programs and Editorial Content
- Design visual assets for Open Calls, artist features, clinics, workshops, and exchange programs
- Create platform-ready social content (carousel posts, covers, story assets, visual promos)
- Translate complex or research-based ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives
- Build content that preserves artistic integrity while increasing reach and action
2) Conversion-Oriented Creative Content
- Collaborate on hooks, headlines, and CTA framing for posts and campaign assets
- Design content that supports conversion goals (follow, click, submit, sign up, pay)
- Improve performance through visual iteration (versioning, testing, re-cuts, alternate layouts)
- Package content differently for different audiences and platforms
3) Visual System and Brand Consistency
- Help define and extend ELSEHERE’s visual language across content series
- Build repeatable templates and production workflows without making the work feel generic
- Maintain consistency across editorial, program, and promotional outputs
- Organize source files and production assets clearly for ongoing use
4) Performance Awareness and Iteration
- Track basic performance signals (engagement, saves, shares, clicks, conversions)
- Identify which visual formats perform and why
- Iterate based on results while protecting quality and brand standards
- Contribute ideas for visual experiments that can improve distribution and conversion
What Success Looks Like
- A clear visual content system for one major ELSEHERE program or series
- Strong, reusable templates that still feel distinctive and high-quality
- Measurable lift in engagement and/or conversions on at least one campaign
- Faster production cadence without loss of visual quality
- Clear evidence of visual consistency across social, site, and campaign outputs
Ideal Background
We’re especially interested in candidates who have done some of the following:
- Visual design, creative production, art direction, content design, or visual storytelling
- Built social or editorial visuals that led to measurable outcomes
- Worked on culture, fashion, media, art, or creator-facing brands
- Strong typography and layout instincts
- Comfortable working fast, revising, and shipping weekly
- Bonus: motion design, short-form video editing, or bilingual EN/CN communication
Compensation and Support
This role is unpaid at the current stage, with performance-based upside:
- Bonus or commission tied to measurable conversion outcomes for specific programs or campaigns
- Portfolio-quality experience building an international cultural platform at an early stage
- CPT or OPT support available in the form of internship or engagement documentation (no H-1B sponsorship)
Growth Path
This role starts as an internship engagement. We are building ELSEHERE for the long term and are interested in people who want to grow with the platform.
As traction and revenue become stable, this role can evolve into:
- Visual Production Lead
- Creative Growth Lead
- Brand and Content Lead
Scope and title will scale with outcomes and platform growth.
