Position Overview
We are hiring a Senior Power Systems Engineer (Engineer V level) to serve as a high-impact technical subject matter expert supporting mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
This is not an entry-level or mid-career position.
This is a senior technical leadership role for an engineer who:
- Has led major power system initiatives
- Has deep, practical industrial experience
- Is confident conducting advanced system studies
- Understands reliability at a strategic level
- Can influence plant-wide electrical standards and improvements
You will directly support large-scale industrial operations where reliability, safety, and compliance are essential.
What You’ll Lead & Own
Technical Leadership
- Provide senior-level subject matter expertise in industrial power systems
- Review and approve complex engineering packages
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and industry standards
- Influence electrical reliability strategy across facilities
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management
Advanced Power System Studies
You should be highly experienced in performing and interpreting:
- Short-circuit analysis
- Load flow analysis
- Protective device coordination
- Arc flash hazard studies
- Harmonics analysis
- Voltage drop analysis
- Transient motor starting studies
- Power factor correction analysis
Reliability & Root Cause Engineering
- Lead root cause investigations for electrical failures
- Develop and optimize preventative maintenance (PM) strategies
- Strengthen long-term system reliability programs
- Support high-impact capital and maintenance projects
Hands-On Industrial Expertise
Deep working experience with:
- Protective relays
- Industrial power distribution systems
- Electrical grounding systems
- Power controls
- Detailed troubleshooting in live industrial environments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated expertise in industrial power systems
- Strong reliability engineering background
- Experience in engineering design AND maintenance support
- Proven ability to review and produce technical documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience in enterprise-scale or regulated environments
- Experience contributing to technical standards
- Project leadership experience
Work Environment
Primary Location: Tulsa, OK
Schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Also open to highly qualified senior candidates located in Houston, TX
