Structural Engineer II
The Structural Engineer II position is intended for experienced engineers who are capable of performing structural design and analysis with a high degree of independence. The engineer will be responsible for executing design tasks, developing calculations and construction documents, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
The position involves working collaboratively with project teams while exercising independent engineering judgment in the application of structural design principles. The engineer will be expected to manage portions of projects, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure that designs meet applicable codes and project requirements.
Requirements:
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types, including high-rise residential, mixed-use, educational, and renovation projects
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents
- Apply engineering judgment in the development of structural systems and solutions
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project team members
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards
- Conduct site visits, field observations, and attend project meetings as required
- Assist in mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their work
- Support project delivery, including meeting deadlines and project requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering / Master’s preferred
- PE License Required
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in the execution of commercial, institutional, or residential building projects in the USA. Experience in high rise and rehabilitation a plus
- Proficiency in development of structural calculation, models, and contract documents
- Proficiency with ETABS, SAFE, RAM, Excel or similar structural design packages
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Proficient knowledge of state and city building codes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Self-leadership and attention to detail
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
- Ability to conduct site visits and structural observations
