Development Student Assistant

The Office of Development and External Relations at the University of California, Irvine School of Law is seeking a student to join our team in providing general administrative and event support approximately 12-16 hours per week. We looking for a candidate that is available to start immediately and is wiling to commit to work through the summer, at a minimum. This is a great opportunity to earn money while you develop professional office skills and learn about law school and the legal field. The team will gladly provide guidance and training on all tasks and projects. 

The responsibilities of the Student Assistant may include:

  • Providing backup assistance to the Development Coordinator
  • Processing employee reimbursements through KFS Financial System
  • Maintaining constituency contact/ mailing lists in various Donor Databases (SalesForce, Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Printing, copying, scanning, typing, and filing (sometimes legal or sensitive information)
  • Assisting with donor acknowledgement letters and mail merges
  • Assisting with the coordination of invitations for legal community-related events
  • Research information on legal/business individuals and entities via the Internet or phone
  • Categorize and digitize donor and prospect files
  • Assisting in law school events on and off campus as needed
  • Assisting with other projects as assigned

 

Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams Database projects:

  •       Mail merges (and mailings)
  •       Guest lists
  •       Nametags
  •       Table cards
  •       Flyers

Hours: 12-16 hours per week, flexible scheduling available due to class schedule. Expectation for in-person training/work.

Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:00AM – 5:00PM as assigned (based on availability); occasional event coverage to include evenings and weekends, as available.

Skills: Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel required, knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint preferred; Excellent attention to detail required; Skill interacting with the public required; Research skills helpful; Expertise in a prior office setting preferred but not necessary; Experience/interest in fundraising and community engagement helpful but not necessary.
