Front Desk Assistant
The Office of Career Planning and Development Front Desk Assistant job responsibilities are as follows:
- greet persons entering office
- notifies office staff of visitor arrival
- answer telephone, screen and direct calls
- take and relay messages
- provide information to callers
- direct visitors to correct destination
- ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
- monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
- provide general administrative and clerical support as needed by CPAD staff
- assist with event prep, setup, cleanup, etc.
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
The CPAD Front Desk Assistant serves as the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students and visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. They are required to have good communication skills. They will spend most of the workday communicating with staff members and visitors, and in order to communicate effectively, they should be a good listener as well.
Qualifications
- strong communication (verbal and written) skills
- position may require some bending, stretching, and pushing or lifting up to 50 lbs.
- ability to sit, walk, and stand up to 4 hours
- ability to use Microsoft Office and Handshake
- ability to use office equipment (fax, copier, etc.)
- minimum 2.0 GPA
