Summer Staff
Staff are essential members of Mar-Lu-Ridge’s inclusive and collaborative summer staff. A staff member may be assigned responsibility for small group of overnight campers on site at MLR, sent to a local church to lead a day-camp program, and/or provide general staff support as assigned. All staff will support the ministry and mission of MLR through day-to-day summer camp leadership.
- Build positive relationships with each individual camper
- Lead and engage campers through daily camp activities: games (active/quiet/large-group, small-group), arts & crafts, nature study, hikes, bible study, archery, challenge course, sleepouts, outdoor cooking, worship, campfire, and more (training provided)
- Collaborate with summer staff members and volunteers to plan and lead daily activities, evening activities, worship, campfires, and more
- Tend to the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of a group of campers during their time at MLR
- Communicate clearly and frequently with Leadership Staff and Associate Director. Report serious concerns or problems immediately
- Share the Gospel via the summer curriculum through Bible studies and informal ministry • Maintain clean private and public areas
- Model positive, Christ-like community living and behavior for campers, volunteers, and staff
