POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Full Time, 40 hours per week.
- Location: 60 State Street in Wethersfield, CT.
- Monday - Friday.
- 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- The hybrid work schedule is subject to the agency's discretion and may vary based on the training schedule.
THE ROLE
The Accounting Careers Trainee will:
- Learn and analyze the bank reconciliation process.
- Document the bank reconciliation process and make updates as technology and systems evolve.
- Perform tasks related to the bank reconciliation.
- Manage multiple tasks and deadlines, keeping projects on track and delivering results.
- Document other processes within the unit, including but not limited to combined revenue reporting and grants.
We’re looking for candidates with a background in accounting who have strong Excel skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to work independently/prioritize tasks.
PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY
The length of the development program is determined by the experience and training requirements of the designated class and the prior experience of the incumbent. At the completion of the development program, incumbents must meet the experience and training requirements of the designated class. The program cannot be less than one (1) year and cannot exceed three (3) calendar years in accordance with C.G.S. 5-234.
Incumbents in this class will be eligible for reclassification to the designated class without competitive examination upon successful completion of the development program and satisfactory service. The designated class for this development program is Accountant.
