Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) - 6544

Seasonal Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) staff support the mission of CEH by performing a variety of administrative functions during New York State’s summer season and beyond. Positions assist CEH district office environmental health staff by performing a variety of critical administrative support functions such as answering office telephones, triaging calls, sorting and distributing mail, filing documents, maintaining office file systems, and performing data entry.

A seasonal Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) role provides interested individuals with the ability to gain real world experience in the field of public health through on-the-job training. Flexible opportunities begin in early May and extend through September 2026.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be interested in exploring a career in public/environmental health; ability to work independently and as part of a team; effective problem solving skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other computer programs as needed.
