Internship Title:  Family Medicine Intern

Internship and Organization Description:  

As a "Full Spectrum" family medicine office providing pediatric and adolescent care, sports medicine and adult patient care, Family Medicine of Albemarle cares for the whole family.  Our intern will support practitioners in office-based procedures, offer basic surgical and prenatal support, and observe and contribute to every aspect of the patient experience.  We seek a reliable, collaborative, and detail-oriented team player.

Interns at Family Medicine of Albemarle will gain comprehensive clinical experiences alongside experienced staff and will be provided meaningful, individualized opportunities to serve others. Our knowledgeable team will support the intern through experiential opportunities that encompass high-quality medical and wellness services. Interns will find a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where the needs of every patient are heard, valued, and respected.

 

Duties:  

  •    Register patients in the office
  •    Take vital signs
  •    Assist providers with patient care
  •    Complete in-office lab testing
  •    Assist with surgical procedures

 

Qualifications:  

  •   Good at science and math
  •   Attention to detail
  •   Strong work ethic
  •   Desire to provide good medical care and help others

 

For this internship, what level of experience is needed?  

  •     One to two professional experiences are preferred.

Schedule:  

All hours must be completed within the traditional work week (M-F; 8am-5pm). Specific hours can be mutually determined by student and supervisor.
