Pro Bono Coordinator

Summary  

The Pro Bono Coordinator, in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, provides essential administrative and logistical support to the pro bono team, tracking performance and activities, maintaining records, assisting with event planning, preparing monthly charts and reports for reporting and managing pro bono hours, and supporting communications related to the firm’s pro bono initiatives. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the pro bono program by handling a variety of clerical and organizational tasks, enabling attorneys and program leaders to focus on delivering impactful pro bono legal services. Additionally, the Coordinator is instrumental in advancing team efficiency through the adoption of technological solutions, including improved tracking systems and the integration of AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and support strategic planning.   

    

Location   

This position will be based in our Washington, DC, New York, or Chicago offices and offers a hybrid work schedule, working at least 3 days in the office.     

 

Responsibilities   

Provide administrative and logistical support for the firm’s pro bono program, including coordination of events, clinics, meetings, and related activities.  

Track, maintain, and audit pro bono participation, matters, and hours; prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, charts, and dashboards to support internal and external reporting.  

Support internal communications related to pro bono initiatives, including drafting and distributing announcements, updates, and participation opportunities.  

Maintain accurate records and organized files in accordance with firm policies, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance standards are upheld.  

Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of pro bono processes, tracking systems, and technology solutions, including AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and data quality.  

Provide day-to-day administrative support to Pro Bono Counsel and the pro bono team, managing multiple priorities and completing additional projects and tasks as assigned. 

  

Desired Skills    

Experience managing multiple administrative tasks and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with various stakeholders in a professional environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions. Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new systems; takes initiative to explore AI solutions and tracking opportunities to improve efficiency. Demonstrates knowledge or experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.). Eagerness to learn, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset. An understanding of how to use Microsoft Office Suite, including CoPilot and SharePoint, and other technology tools is preferred. An ability to create impactful visuals and share compelling stories about pro bono work is a plus. Additional competencies required for success in this role include time management, communication skills, initiative, teamwork/collaboration, technical proficiency, confidentiality/professionalism, and customer service orientation. 

   

Minimum Education    

Bachelor's Degree. 

 

Minimum Years of Experience   

1 year of professional experience from internships, administrative support, or volunteer coordination.

Physical Demands  

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.    

    

Work Environment    

The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in-office work, the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firm’s discretion in the future.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $37.50 - $50.97 per hour depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. 

 

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
