Inside Sales & Operations Associate (Life Sciences)

Innovative Bioscience is a growing life-science supply company supporting academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical research labs across the United States. We specialize in Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS), cell culture reagents, and laboratory consumables. We are known for responsive service, strong technical understanding, and reliable fulfillment.

We are hiring our first full-time employee to join our team and grow with the company.

 

Position Overview

This is a hybrid role combining inside sales (approximately 80%) with warehouse and lab operations support (approximately 20%). The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with a science background who is outgoing, motivated, and comfortable both speaking with researchers and performing hands-on operational work.

This is a fully onsite position at our Benicia office and warehouse.

 

Key Responsibilities

Inside Sales & Customer Support (Primary Focus)

  • Sell Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) and lab consumables to academic and biotech research labs
  • Conduct outbound and inbound sales calls and follow-ups
  • Build relationships with lab managers, researchers, and procurement contacts
  • Visit local labs in person when appropriate
  • Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and assist with order placement
  • Learn product applications and confidently explain technical differences between lots and products

 

Warehouse & Lab Operations Support

  • Assist with order fulfillment and packing shipments
  • Pack frozen shipments using dry ice in compliance with shipping requirements
  • Relabel FBS bottles and assist with heat-inactivation processes
  • Use warehouse equipment including strapping machines
  • Help maintain organized inventory and workspace
  • Follow SOPs related to safety, cold-chain handling, and quality control

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or recent graduate) in Biology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related life-science field
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone and interacting with customers
  • Outgoing personality with strong communication skills
  • Willingness to learn technical products and sales processes
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow procedures

 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods
  • Ability to safely use a ladder when required
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and around dry ice (training provided)

 

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Prior lab experience (academic or industry)
  • Exposure to cell culture or tissue culture workflows
  • Any sales, customer service, or outreach experience
  • Interest in biotech sales, scientific products, or business development
