Tutor - Writing Center - FWS
If you are a skilled writer, enjoy collaborative work, are detail-oriented, and thrive working on a team, then the Writing Center may be a good fit for you. Writing tutors meet with students for one-on-one sessions, helping them at any stage of the writing process.
The Writing Center is a teaching arm of the university, so Writing tutors are much more than editors and proofreaders. While we help students with grammar and proofreading, our bigger goal is to engage with students and find ways to make their writing clearer and more effective.
Consultants typically work 6–12 hours per week, and we offer both in-person and online consultations
Responsibilities include:
- Provide writing support to students during scheduled consultations.
- Assist with front-desk coverage and basic administrative tasks as needed.
- Engage in professional development activities as assigned.
- Help maintain a clean, organized Writing Center during downtime.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the work of the Writing Center.
