Manufacturing Intern
About the Role
The Manufacturing Intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven production environment while supporting increased operational demand during the summer months. This role contributes directly to day-to-day manufacturing activities, including assembly, testing, and calibration of finished goods.
The intern will work closely with manufacturing technicians and team leads, gaining exposure to structured build processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Assemble components and finished goods, including “plug and play” products requiring minimal technical complexity
- Program and calibrate microprocessors and computer control systems in finished products
- Conduct routine testing of components and subassemblies, identifying and addressing potential issues
- Follow established build protocols to ensure quality and consistency
- Support order fulfillment efforts by helping ensure builds and shipments are completed on schedule
- Uphold safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Depending on business needs, contribute to Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- Interest in hands-on manufacturing, electronics, or mechanical assembly
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to follow structured procedures while maintaining efficiency
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools or test equipment is a plus but not required
- Self-starter who can manage assigned tasks independently and ask thoughtful questions
