Controlling Intern – Controlling Department 

Job Description: Controlling Intern

Location: Mount Olive, NJ

Duration: 6 – 7 Months

Reports to: Site Controller

 

As a Controlling Intern within Givaudan's controlling team, you will be exposed to a wide range of topics within Financial Controlling Operations. Position will support the financial planning, reporting, and controlling tasks pertaining to overhead and credit including personnel, structural and capital invest.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in financial operations: Assist in managing financial activities such as basic accounting, preparation of simple financial reports, gathering data for budgets and projections, capital investment, etc.
  • Assistance in financial analysis: Contribute to data collection and preparation of basic analysis on financial performance and trends.
  • Support in Internal controls: Assist in reviewing Inventory internal controls
  • Participation in financial risk management activities: Collaborate in identifying and documenting potential financial risks.
  • Support in administrative and office tasks related to finance: Perform data entry tasks, savings tracking, performance management.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BS program; Finance, Accounting, business administration or a related field preferred 
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to manage databases and create/use pivot tables.
  • Effective communication skills: build professional relationships and network within the organization, proactively seek solutions, and effectively present ideas and findings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, follow instructions, and demonstrate a proactive mindset by taking initiative to improve processes.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interest in learning and gaining experience in the financial field.
  • In addition to these responsibilities and skills, the intern is expected to be open to learning, have a proactive attitude, and be willing to participate in different activities to gain practical experience in the financial field.

Availability 

Preferred availability 5 consecutive days per business week (M-F), 8 hours per day
