Banquet Captain
Do you love being part of unforgettable moments? As a Banquet Captain, you’ll play a leadership role in executing seamless weddings, banquets, and private events. You’ll serve as the on-site point of contact for events, support and guide the banquet team, and ensure every detail is executed according to plan. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Meet with the Banquet Manager prior to each event to review event details and expectations
Ensure all banquet event setups and teardowns are completed according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
Set tables, chairs, and event spaces according to established standards
Maintain open communication with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef regarding timing, service flow, and any necessary changes
Introduce yourself to the event contact prior to the event and remain available throughout
Serve as the main point of contact for the client during the event
Present the final check to the event contact at the conclusion of the event and obtain a signed copy for records
Complete a detailed and accurate Captain’s Report following each event
Ensure Banquet Servers and Bartenders arrive on time and are in proper uniform
Support and oversee the banquet team throughout the event, ensuring assigned side work is completed
Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with clients and guests
Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of banquet rooms before, during, and after events
Ensure proper handling and service of all food and beverage products
Ensure all banquet equipment and supplies are cleaned and returned to proper storage locations
Attend required staff meetings and training sessions
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Lock and alarm banquet rooms at the conclusion of events
Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
High school diploma or equivalent
Banquet Server experience preferred; prior leadership or management experience is a plus
Food Handler Permit and applicable city and state alcohol permits required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
Ability to read, write, and speak English
A positive, team-focused attitude with a polished, professional appearance
