Exceptional Education Specialist

Exceptional Education Specialist directs, implements, and oversees exceptional education programs, including special education, gifted education, behavioral supports, and the Alabama Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This role ensures compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and ALSDE guidance while promoting a data-driven, problem-solving framework to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes for all learners. The specialist collaborates with district and school leadership, educators, families, and service providers to ensure equitable access to high-quality instructional and intervention services. 

Qualifications - Minimum Master's degree in Special Education from accredited university. Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certification in Special Education in accordance with Alabama State Board of Ed requirements.

Minimum three years of experience as special education teacher with leadership responsibilities  or as special education coordinator
