Position Summary
The Research Analyst Intern will support the Strategy, Capture, and Product teams in conducting structured research, data analysis, and market intelligence to inform business development, government contracting, and platform innovation initiatives.
This internship provides hands-on exposure to federal, state, and higher education procurement ecosystems, competitive analysis, policy research, and data-driven decision-making. The program is designed to prepare participants for future careers in research, public policy analysis, business intelligence, government consulting, or strategic advisory roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research across federal, state, and local government agencies, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations to identify opportunities and sector trends.
- Analyze RFPs, RFIs, procurement forecasts, and policy documents to extract strategic insights for capture and proposal development.
- Support competitive intelligence initiatives by researching vendors, contract awards, and pricing benchmarks.
- Prepare structured research briefs, white papers, executive summaries, and data reports for internal leadership and proposal teams.
- Assist in developing sector-specific insight reports (e.g., EdTech modernization, digital transformation, CRM adoption in public institutions).
- Support data gathering and analysis for grant opportunities, funding programs, and institutional partnerships.
- Contribute to proposal development by drafting background sections, needs assessments, and market justification narratives.
- Collaborate with product and sales teams to translate research findings into positioning strategies and feature enhancements.
- Maintain organized research repositories, citation logs, and intelligence dashboards.
Training & Learning Opportunities
- Exposure to government procurement processes (SAM.gov, state procurement portals, cooperative contracts).
- Hands-on experience analyzing RFIs, RFPs, and compliance frameworks (HECVAT, VPAT, FAR/DFARS).
- Training in structured research methodologies, data analysis, and policy review.
- Mentorship in capture strategy, competitive positioning, and proposal development.
- Practical experience preparing executive-ready research summaries.

Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
- Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into concise executive summaries.
- Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets and basic data visualization tools preferred.
- Experience with academic or market research projects is an advantage.
- Interest in government contracting, public-sector innovation, or technology modernization.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently in a structured environment.
