Intern Architect
Position: Architect (non-licensed or licensed)
At Oliver Architecture, Intern Architects take on meaningful responsibility across the many facets of our multidisciplinary design firm. Our small, studio-based environment allows team members to be directly involved in projects from concept through documentation, working closely with senior staff while developing a strong understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of an architectural professional.
We are currently seeking a full-time Intern Architect to join our 8-person architecture & interior design firm located in Cleveland, OH. Please note: this is NOT a summer internship position.
We invite you to explore the post below and email your resume to Dave Kaplan at dave@oliverarchitect.com if interested. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!
Requirements are as follows:
- Revit experience is required, as all of our projects are completed using Revit. While fluency in the program is preferred, a candidate minimally must have some experience using the program to create Construction Documents.
- Degree in Architecture (does not need to be a professional degree.) A professional license is not required, though the ideal candidate would minimally be working towards licensure.
- 1-5+ years' experience. Highly qualified recent college graduates with previous job experiences/internships are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with programs such as Photoshop, other Adobe suite programs, and Lumion a plus.
- As a hybrid work company, we rely heavily on online project management tools to stay in touch with everyone throughout the day. New hires should be capable of learning multiple such programs to seamlessly interact with OA staff and other Project Team members as necessary.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of Construction Documents
- Assisting in the preparation of conceptual design packages for Client and City presentations
- Visiting job sites and assisting with other Construction Administration tasks
- Attending Client meetings with other staff members
- Assisting staff members with visiting and documenting new sites
Who we're looking for:
- Hard-working individual with interest in continuous learning about the field and gaining additional professional experience
- Works well with others and has a positive attitude
- Someone who is comfortable working both in-office and remote if needed.
- A quick learner with computer programs
- A motivated self-starter who proactively identifies and completes tasks when guidance may be limited
In addition to the above qualifications, we are looking for someone who can think strategically and aesthetically. Having an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and knowing the right questions to ask are always a plus.
What we offer you:
- A positive work environment with creative and capable leadership and staff, both encouraging and enabling your career progression. Our Firm Principals have the experience, technical expertise, people-skills and desire to help you move down your path as a professional designer
- Open and frequent communication with our Firm Principals, with frequent internal status-check meetings/reviews to ensure you are happy and sufficiently supported to best perform your job
- Competitive salary with opportunities for salary increases based on established work performance

- Profit-sharing involvement (depending on length of employment)
- Vacation/personal days
