Position Summary
Mentoring Youth Through Technology (MYTT) is seeking an Assistant STEM Instructor to support the delivery of hands-on STEM programming for youth ages 6–18. This role works in collaboration with the STEM Instructor to support instruction, reinforce learning, and help maintain a structured and safe environment.
The Assistant STEM Instructor plays a key role in supporting student engagement and ensuring smooth program operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering STEM lessons and hands-on activities.
- Provide small-group and one-on-one support during coding, robotics, and technology projects.
- Support classroom setup, technology preparation, and cleanup.
- Reinforce classroom expectations and assist with student supervision.
- Monitor participation and help maintain an organized learning environment.
- Assist with attendance tracking and basic documentation.
- Build mentor relationships.
- Support inventory organization and materials management.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with youth (ages 6–18) preferred.
- Interest in STEM, robotics, coding, or technology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using basic technology tools.
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred
- Some college coursework in a STEM-related field.
- Experience supporting instruction in a classroom or after-school setting.
- Experience supporting diverse learners.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily after-school hours (approximately 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on weekdays).
- Weekend programming typically 9:00 AM – 12:30PM.
- The schedule varies based on program needs; hours are flexible.
- Onsite at MYTT program locations and partner schools.
- Active, youth-centered environment requiring movement and hands-on support.
