Middle School Music Teacher

Job Summary - Rutland Middle School Music Teacher

Rutland City Public Schools is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School Choral/General Music Teacher to inspire students through music education. This position focuses on developing students’ vocal and musical abilities, with a strong understanding of the adolescent voice and vocal range development.

The successful candidate will:
 

  • Deliver a comprehensive, engaging curriculum for a diverse student body in both choral and general music.
     
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and creative growth through music.
     
  • Have the opportunity to lead after-school ensembles, with stipends available.
     
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment where students thrive as musicians and community members.

A successful candidate will hold (or be able to obtain) a Vermont 7–12 teaching license (Master’s preferred) and bring a collaborative spirit, creativity, and enthusiasm for our unique school culture.

Rutland City Public Schools offer a competitive salary, a generous benefits package, and the opportunity to participate in the Rutland City Pension Plan in addition to the VT State Pension program. Salary range is $47,252 to $92,401 (based on the 26-27 salary schedule), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
