Primary Job Duties

 

  • Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for SkyWest’s drug and alcohol testing programs
  • Coordinate with Employment Standards on pre-screening and employment eligibility
  • Assist in the development and execution of drug and alcohol policies that ensure FAA compliance in conjunction with the Manager.
  • At the direction of the Manager, coordinate and prepare for FAA drug and alcohol audits
  • Maintain, secure, and manage all drug and alcohol testing records
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with random and pre-employment vendors regarding collection, ensuring compliance, resolving problems, etc.
  • Lead the company’s drug and alcohol testing and substance abuse programs
  • With the support of the Manager, oversee compliance issues, complaints, collection, and coordinate with the medical review officer (MRO), lab, etc.
  • At the direction of the Manager, lead development, training, and execution of procedures for testing (e.g., pre-employment, random, reasonable cause, follow up, post-accident, and return to duty)
  • Respond to critical incidents and participate in emergency response activities as assigned
  • Fulfill Manager-on-Duty (MOD) responsibilities by managing the on-call rotation, providing coverage during business hours and designated evening on-call periods


Minimum Requirements

 

  • DER training and certification
  • Basic knowledge of and experience working in a regulatory environment (FAA, DOT, etc.)
  • Ability to navigate computer systems and learn management tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • General understanding of the airline industry and regional airline business model, and airline work experience
  • Prior leadership experience


Physical and Other Requirements

 

 

  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to St. George, UT (this is not a fully remote position)
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • This position is not classified as a Department of Transportation (DOT) safety-sensitive role
