eCommerce Internship

Looking for a hands-on internship where you can learn, create, and make an impact? Hinkley, a fourth-generation, family-owned lighting company with over 100 years of experience, is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our team and help bring Life Aglow—stylish, innovative lighting that brightens everyday life and special moments.

As an intern, you’ll get real-world experience working alongside our eCommerce Team to support day-to-day marketplace operations and special projects throughout the summer. You will help monitor online marketplaces, maintain pricing consistency, assist with merchandising audits, and identify unauthorized sellers. You will also support project management efforts tied to cross-functional initiatives and data-driven improvements. This internship provides hands-on experience in online marketplace management, competitive analysis, merchandising operations, and analytics while contributing to projects that strengthen Hinkley’s digital brand presence and operational processes.

Note: This is an in-person internship; remote work is not available. We are flexible with hours and start/end dates, considering 30–40 hours per week with a 4- or 5-day schedule. This is a paid internship, with hourly pay discussed during the initial phone interview.

 

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist with merchandising audits to validate product content, assortment accuracy, and channel execution. 
  • Ensure price integrity across various online channels. 
  • Research online competitors and perform competitive analysis, providing insights to support market share growth. 
  • Transform data into actionable operational insights, including SKU-level performance analytics. 
  • Support project management efforts by tracking tasks, timelines, and deliverables for eCommerce initiatives. 
  • Monitor online marketplaces for unauthorized sellers and counterfeit products. 
  • Assist in integrating external data points into internal analytic tools (e.g., Qlik) to enhance reporting and decision-making.

 

Necessary Specialized Training, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or related field. Must be a second-year student or beyond. 
  • Highly organized, analytical, and technically minded.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation abilities.
  • Able to orient data analytics insights with the end-user in mind.
  • Professional, punctual, and goal driven.
  • A team player with great communication skills.
