Cooperative Purchasing Program Marketing Internship

Position Description

Under the direction of the Cooperative Purchasing Program Director and Cooperative Purchasing Program Marketing Coordinator, the CPP Marketing Intern provides creative and administrative support to advance awareness and engagement with the Cooperative Purchasing Program (CPP). This position assists with content development, digital communications, vendor outreach, and program storytelling to promote the value of cooperative purchasing to local governments and industry partners.

 Essential Functions 

  • Assists with creation and scheduling of digital content highlighting CPP contracts, vendors, and success stories. 
  • Supports development of newsletters, buyer guides, vendor spotlights, and promotional materials. 
  • Coordinates collection of vendor photos, logos, and product information for marketing use. 
  • Assists with maintenance of marketing collateral. 
  • Drafts, schedules, and supports timely, consistent outreach for target audiences and organizational partners. 
  • Supports implementation of and prepares strategy for marketing communications impact and vendor management solutions. 
  • Tracks engagement metrics for campaigns and prepares summary reports. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 Education, Professional Certification, or License 

  • Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, an associate or bachelor’s degree program in marketing, communications, public administration, business, or related field preferred. 

 Professional Experience 

  • Experience with social media management, graphic design, or communications preferred. 
  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in marketing, government, or nonprofit settings a plus. 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Excellent computer skills. 
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 products; familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to adapt to changes in responsibilities. 
  • Ability to conduct research and present information clearly. 
  • Professionalism in interacting with vendors, purchasers, and stakeholders. 
  • Problem solving and sound judgement. 
  • Ability to adhere to policy and procedures. 

Miscellaneous 

  • Consideration of a two-semester work experience preferred, i.e. Spring and Summer. 

Salary 

  • $15 per hour
