PSM (Power Systems Mfg., LLC.) is seeking a variety of interests for Summer 2026 intern positions in our Jupiter, Florida location.
As an Intern in the Intellectual Property Section of the Legal Department, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects within the PSM’s Research & Development Operations. You will analyze and mitigate legal intellectual property risks involved with product development and improvements alongside legal counsel and teams of engineers from all disciplines within PSM. You will research and identify potential infringement risks and new concept patentability with guidance from legal sponsors and communicate the findings to the R&D teams.
- Participate in the review of designs and improvements within new projects and identify any relevant prior art for each
- Review newly published third-party patents and applications and generate a summary report
- Review office action responses with legal counsel to bring patent applications to granted status
- Create patent documentation consistent with USPTO standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
- B.S. Level: College Junior or Senior in legal studies with engineering interest or experience; or majoring in Mechanical, Aerospace or other relevant Engineering discipline
Skills/Experience
- Ability to work with research and development teams
- Solution-oriented creative problem solving
- Good communication, reporting, and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with significant deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
- Must enjoy reading
- Ability to quickly to conceptualize new concepts
- Prior art researching skills preferred
PSM’s 2026 Summer Internship Program will run from May-August.
