Social Media Intern (Real Estate Tech Startup)

About Us

NexKey Collective is a real estate investment startup founded by Kristie DeLouise (Parsons alum and former VP of UX at JPMorgan) and her husband/co-founder, John Matland. We help investors and wholesalers close creative deals using innovation, automation, AI tools, and networked connections.

Co-wholesaling and dispositions of JV partner deals are central to our business model. We’re building an innovative platform that personalizes property matching for investors and wholesalers.

Creating a public brand presence enables us to reach our customers where they are at and build trust, brand awareness and growth. Social media marketing and PR is key!

 

What You’ll Do

  • Create social media content (graphics, carousels, short-form videos) using Canva
  • Repurpose long-form content into short-form social posts
  • Draft captions aligned with brand voice
  • Schedule and manage posts across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
  •  Identify trending formats and adapt them to Nexkey
  • Assist with content organization and basic reporting
  • Proactively suggest content ideas, series, and improvements
  • Communicate and engage with customers 
  • Utilize automated scheduling, CRM and follow up tools to track and manage conversations
  • Generate or manage PR opportunities

 

What We’re Looking For

 

Must-Haves:

  • Strong proficiency in Canva 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal hand-holding
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Organized and deadline-oriented
  • Comfortable turning ideas into finished assets quickly
  • Strong visual and communication design skills
  • Familiarity with short-form content trends

 

Bonus:

  • Experience editing short-form video (CapCut or similar)
  • Basic understanding of brand positioning
  • Experience with content scheduling tools

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Canva
  • Strong written communication and caption writing
  • Ability to follow brand voice guidelines
  • Self-management and time management
  • Content organization and workflow tracking
  • Basic understanding of social media strategy and audience targeting
  • Ability to repurpose long-form content into short-form posts
  • Attention to detail (spelling, formatting, visual alignment)
  • Comfort working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to receive feedback and iterate quickly

Details

  • Remote, ~20-30 hrs/week
  • Duration: 6–8 months (extendable)

 

Unpaid internship – educational experience for skill development and portfolio building. This internship is unpaid. Students should consult their school’s Internship or Experiential Learning department to determine if academic credit can be arranged.
