Hours: Full time

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Position Summary:

Street Hope TN is a faith-based nonprofit with a mission to eliminate sexual exploitation and trafficking of children and to provide safe environments to foster healing and hope through Jesus Christ.

Street Hope TN is hiring a Prevention Educator, whose role will be to present all trainings under our Prevention Education department. This individual will be an engaging and relatable communicator who is able to work well with local school districts and effectively teach middle and high school students as well as adults about the role technology plays in trafficking and sexual exploitation. This individual should expect to present trainings one to two evenings per month. This position will require trade to schools and churches in all of Knox and surrounding counties.

Principle Duties:

· Someone who will assist the Director of Prevention Education with current/initiatives

A team member who positively represents Street Hope TN at awareness, prevention, and fundraising events where SHTN is leading or involved

Prevention Education

· Maintain enthusiasm about teaching and equipping students

· Able to present Prevention Education trainings to a wide range of ages from students to senior adults

· Able to exhibit a thorough understanding of subject matter related to training material, especially current video games and gaming consoles, and potential safety concerns students might encounter on those platforms

· Eager to stay up-to-date on new information that can be helpful to incorporate into presentations, including new releases of games, updated safety features or notable risks, and important legislation that can affect social media or gaming platforms

· Able to proactively incorporate news stories and pertinent data in trainings as needed

· Able to clearly communicate how to report potential trafficking to partners/school/staff

· Expect to present trainings one or two evenings per month

· This position will require travel to schools and churches in counties surrounding Knox

Administration & Management

· Able to track and report accurate training numbers to Street Hope TN

· Able to administer student surveys as needed

· Aware of current events that will assist in the development of current and new curriculum

Education, Experience, Other Qualifications:

A. Education

· Associates degree or equivalent experience required

B. Experience:

· Must have a strong working knowledge of gaming including major gaming consoles and current video games

· Must be able to clearly communicate about gaming in ways that are relatable to students

· Strong working knowledge of social media platforms

· Public speaking or teaching experience required

C. Skills:

· Able to communicate technology concepts clearly and precisely

· Energetic delivery of materials

· Willing to independently research new information as noted under Duties above

· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive, collaborative, and motivational relationship among staff and volunteers

· Able to work well in fast-paced classroom environment

· Easily adaptable to teaching in a different location every day

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and other related technologies and programs

D. Spiritual

· Deep faith in and abiding walk with Christ, understanding of Biblical principles and of the hope, healing, and redemptive work of Christ

· Agreement with and adherence to our Statement of Faith (The Lausanne Covenant)

E. Other

· Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s license and have reliable transportation with the ability to produce evidence of auto insurance coverage

· Must meet criminal and local background check requirements
