Coastal Conservation and Events Intern

About Us: We are a passionate, volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to protecting the beauty of the Mendocino Coast. From organizing beach cleanups to launching creative community outreach projects, we work at the intersection of environmental conservation and local engagement.

The Role: We are looking for motivated Mendocino College students to join our team! This isn't a "get coffee" type of internship. You will be on the ground helping us grow our impact. Because we are volunteer-run, you will have the unique opportunity to see the inner workings of a nonprofit and contribute your own ideas.

What You’ll Do:

Event Planning: Assist in the logistics and execution of beach cleanups and community workshops.

Media & Outreach: Create engaging social media content or flyers to promote our mission.

Sustainability Advocacy: Help manage conservation projects and educate the public on coastal protection.

Nonprofit Admin: Gain experience in volunteer coordination and community networking.

Who You Are:

A current student (any major!) with a passion for the Mendocino Coast.

Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working outdoors or in community settings.

Interested in sustainability, media, event management, or public service.

The Perks:

Flexible scheduling to work around your classes.

Hands-on experience that builds your professional portfolio.

Networking opportunities with local environmental leaders and community members.

Major Preferences: All Majors! You would be surprised how a Graphic Design major can help with outreach or a Business major can help with business plans and logistics. Finance majors will learn data entry, financial reporting, and spreadsheet management. Information Technology majors will learn troubleshooting, web content management, and digital collaboration.

Location: The work is primarily in Fort Bragg, Mendocino, or remote/hybrid.

Duration: Decide if you want this to be for one semester (e.g., Spring 2026) or a summer-long project.
