Product Design Engineer (Bottle & Packaging Design)
Role Overview:
The Product Design Engineer focuses on designing and developing new bottles and consumer packaging. You will work closely with Sales, Customers, and Manufacturing to create functional and visually appealing products.
Responsibilities:
- Gather package requirements: volume, fill level, overflow, bottle dimensions, neck finish, label specifications.
- Identify and qualify performance requirements, such as top load and drop tests.
- Conduct bottle testing and measurements in our lab using tools like optical comparators, digital height gauges, calipers, and Magna Mike.
- Use SolidWorks 2024 to create 2D sketches, 3D models, and 3D printed prototypes.
- Utilize Faro Arm laser scanning with Polyworks software for reverse engineering projects.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in product or packaging design.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Product Design Engineering Technology, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in SolidWorks (and/or NX).
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Experience with Faro Arm & Polyworks is a plus.
