Elementary School Reading Tutor
Are you interested in a career in education? Then this opportunity is for you! Earn while you learn and tutor students at one of Dallas ISD elementary schools. Tutor responsibilities include the following:
- College Undergraduates Criteria/ Job Responsibilities
- Attend United to Learn Orientation and subsequent professional development.
- Commit to working 10-20 hours per week at campus placement for 2026-2027 school year.
- Sign in and out daily to track hours.
- Communicate with the Dallas ISD Campus Contact and United to Learn staff in the event of a planned or unplanned absence, late arrival, or early departure.
- Follow the instructions of the Campus Contact regarding which student to work with, materials to use, and learning space requirements.
- Receive and act upon feedback provided by the Campus Contact, United to Learn Coach, and Campus Retired Teacher.
- Spend at least 75% of campus time in instructional time, with 25% or less time spent at recess duty, lunch duty, etc.
- Accept the wage rate of: $22 /hour - provided through United to Learn for Federal Work Study Program (if you qualify)
- Meet the U2L Aspiring Teachers Federal Work Study Candidate Requirements (if you qualify)
- High School Diploma/Associate Degree
- Ability to provide transportation to job site at least three times a week, for a total of 10-20 hours per week
- Commitment to serve in their placement school for fall and spring semesters
- Enrolled in School of Education and/or education degree path.
- Demonstrated interest in working as an educator or school administrator.
- Strong alignment with United to Learn’s mission and values.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning.
- Proficient in Google Suite, Excel and other basic technology platforms.
