This program is made possible through the Northern Forest National Wildlife Refuge Stewardship Partnership, a collaboration between the Guild and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

The key responsibilities include:

  • Installing long-term monitoring plots while navigating off-trail to sampling sites
  • Collecting field data across diverse forest ecosystems, including tree identification, diameter measurements, seedling abundance, and the volume of coarse woody material.
  • Implementing other forestry-related tasks as assigned, such as cruising, boundary marking, mechanical removal of invasive species, trail maintenance, forest road repair, and pre-commercial thinning.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure data integrity, quality assurance, and timely reporting.
