Technical Project Manager Summer Intern

Summary:
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) Intern is responsible for learning all aspects of assigned Client Technology software development projects and client implementation integrations into an existing enterprise application environment. This includes shadowing and supporting a seasoned member of the PMO team with the day-to-day operations of the project and scope. The TPM intern will participate in projects to build technical project management skills including developing and managing the project plan and project documentation; identifying critical path decisions; making recommendations; and managing project issues through resolution The PMO team will support the TPM intern and provide experience through assigned project work.
Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. These are key areas where the intern should have experience or be willing to learn the skills required for each function. Other duties may be assigned.
Developing professional skills necessary to run complex projects from design and development to production.
Manage requirements and scope.
Support and build experience managing complex project/programs from design and development to production.
Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment.
Develop plans and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones for implementation.
Define project resources. Manage project resource hours, project costs, and project budgets.
Efficiently identify and understand project and technical issues and business implications.
Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
Capable of handling multiple diverse and complex assignments concurrently.
Direct people leadership experience.
Adhere to a set schedule.
Other duties as assigned.

Required
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary course of study, preferably in Project Management, Technical Project Management, Technology or Business-related field.
Interested in a career path of project management or technical project management in an IT or software development field
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Exceptional telephone demeanor
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to use discretion, exercise good judgment and resourcefulness.
Preferred
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent preferred.
Experience or familiarity with Smartsheet, MS project, or MS Excel a plus
Experience or familiarity with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Tempo (timekeeping) a plus
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day
Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day
Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
Sedentary position. Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
Workers are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Lifting and/or carrying (<10 lbs.)
Manipulate small and/or large bulky objects
Standing, reaching, kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling may be required.

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including skills, experience, work location and more. We offer competitive pay while still allowing for compensation growth within the position and company.
