Human Resources Intern
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Intern provides administrative and project support to the HR department while gaining hands-on experience in core human resources functions. This role supports document management, job description updates, HR systems training, and learning and development initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Help with employment file organization and management, in accordance with record -retention and confidentiality standards.
a. Transition files from paper to digital and ensure content is appropriately separated and maintained within HR systems
b. Organize, separate, and maintain electronic employment files within HR systems and shared drives.
2. Assist with reviewing, updating, and formatting job descriptions to ensure accuracy. May partner on aligning jobs, job titles and descriptions across our sites in alignment with our job architecture.
3. Work with Talent Acquisition on the posting of jobs, resume review, and initial screens.
4. Assist with learning and development initiatives, training coordination, and assigning/assembling courses for team members.
5. Shadow various business and team member / manager meetings to learn from observation.
6. Work with the team on special projects, as assigned.
7. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, HR, and company policies at all times.
8. Understands and adheres to Quality & Compliance policies and procedures.
9. Follows safety procedures and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
10. Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment where/when necessary.
11. Contributes to a respectful, non-hostile, non-violent work environment.
12. Understands the purpose, value, and impact work has on product customers and users.
13. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Currently pursing degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
· Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
· Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibility.
· Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
· Familiarity with electronic filing systems or HR software is preferred.
· Interest in human resources, training, or organizational development.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Office-based work environment.
· Frequent use of computers, scanners, and other office equipment.
· Primarily sedentary work with periods of standing, walking, and filing.
· Collaborative team setting with regular interaction with HR team and other departments.
We offer a competitive hourly rate in the $19.00to $21.00range, based on experience and requirements of the role.
