Athletic Coach

Summer camp athletic coached wanted!

 

Camp Takajo, located in Naples, Maine, is a summer overnight camp founded in 1947. Known for its emphasis on character building, Takajo blends top-tier athletics with a wide range of creative, outdoor, and skill-based activities. Counselors are role models—selected for their warmth, integrity, and leadership—and are central to creating a positive, supportive community where campers grow in confidence, sportsmanship, and independence.

Camp Takajo is hiring Athletic Coaches for Summer 2026. These positions are ideal for current or former athletes and coaches who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and working with children in an energetic outdoor environment.

 

Position Details

Location: Naples, Maine

Dates: June 20 – August 13, 2026

Compensation: $400 per week

Type: Seasonal, Full-Time

Travel assistance provided

Available Coaching Positions
We are seeking enthusiastic coaches and instructors in the following sports:

Baseball – Regulation Little League and high-school fields with batting cage

Soccer – Multiple fields (elementary, middle, and high-school size)

Basketball – Five courts, including two indoor gymnasiums

Tennis – Seventeen courts (hard & clay), courts under the lights, twelve paddle-tennis courts, and a six-court pickleball arena under the lights

Lacrosse – Expansive athletic fields for practices and inter-camp games

Flag Football – Large grass fields for skill development and league play

Street / Roller Hockey – Outdoor rinks for drills and team scrimmages

Volleyball – Multiple sand and grass courts for instruction and tournaments

Archery - Rustic archery range. Instructors become certified on property.

 

Responsibilities

Teach and develop sport-specific fundamentals for campers ages 7–15

Co-lead programs with up to 100 children participating

Create and implement engaging daily lesson plans

Coach intra-camp and travel-team games

Foster teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship among campers

 

Qualifications

High-school or collegiate playing/coaching experience in your sport

Strong leadership and communication skills

Enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoys working with children
