Counselor stipends begin at $475/week. Room and board included.

We are welcoming applications for the following positions:

  • Camp Counselor at Camp Wing - Located in Duxbury, MA. Interact with youth ages 7-13. Staff serve as cabin counselors and activity facilitators (swimming, sports, crafts, performing arts, adventure, etc). Live in a rustic cabin setting. The season includes training plus four 12-day sessions. Dates of employment: June 22 - August 22.
  • Camp Counselor at Camp Mitton - Located in Brewster, MA. Interact with youth ages 13-16. Staff serve as cabin counselors, activity facilitators with a focus on youth leadership development. Live in a rustic cabin setting. The season includes training plus two 25-day sessions. Dates of employment: June 19 - August 19.
  • Trek Counselor - Located in Brewster, MA w/ travel to Teton Valley, Idaho. Interact with youth aged 15 & 16. Alongside professional guides, support youth during an extended backcountry trek. Live in a wilderness camp setting. Hiking or camping experience required. The season includes training plus two 14-day sessions. Travel costs are covered. Dates of employment: June 19 - August 2.
  • College Tour/ACT Now Counselor - Located on various college campuses within three hours of Boston. Interact with youth ages 16 - 18. Work focuses on social justice initiatives and postsecondary support. Live in a dormitory setting. Must be 20+ years old. The season includes training plus three 7-day sessions. Dates of employment: June 27 - July 24.

General Summary of Duties:

  • Live and bond with campers and a co-counselor in a cabin, helping young people build resilience, confidence, and independence while creating unforgettable memories away from home
  • Lead action-packed, high-energy days filled with engaging activities, with time to recharge during designated breaks and time off
  • Plan and lead creative, fun activities—from arts and adventure to sports and water activities—infusing each session with energy and excitement
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging campers to embrace challenges, try new things, and grow through "failing forward" in a supportive environment
  • Foster an inclusive camp culture that celebrates diversity, respects individual perspectives, and empowers campers to be their authentic selves

Essential Functions:

The essential functions for a counselor include the ability to support the physical/social/emotional needs of youth or teens as well as work collaboratively with peer and supervisory staff. Staff must be able to provide activity instruction to campers and facilitate a safe living/learning environment in the settings specified above. Staff will share a living space with campers and other counselors. Counselors will have limited access to personal technology during working hours. Visual and auditory abilities to identify and respond to environmental hazards are required. Staff must be able to assist campers in an emergency situation and possess the endurance required to maintain full-day supervision of young people.

Total Salary: Up to $4,275 for 9-week position. Room and Board Included.

Details:

  • Housing and meals are provided at no cost.
  • Staff are paid a stipend of $475 per week plus a completion bonus of $450.
  • Staff must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school (20+ for College Tour/ACT Now Counselor).
  • Experience at camp or working with youth is important.
  • Lifeguard and Ropes Course certification training available (Trek and College Tour/ACT Now Counselors excluded).
