Full-Stack Mobile Application Developer (Flutter or React Native)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Full-Stack Mobile Application Developer to design and build an MVP-level social media mobile application from the ground up. This role requires strong end-to-end development expertise, including mobile UI/UX, backend services, cloud integration, and production deployment.

The application is centered on enabling precise, interactive collaboration on visual content. Unlike traditional feedback systems that rely on general comments, the platform allows users to place context-rich feedback directly on specific areas of an image. By anchoring comments to exact locations, the app improves clarity, streamlines communication, and creates a clear, traceable record of discussions and revisions. Designed for professionals and teams working with visual assets—such as designers, engineers, and marketers—the application transforms static images into dynamic, collaborative workspaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an end to end cross-platform mobile application using Flutter or React Native
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs
  • Implement secure user authentication and profile management
  • Develop core social media functionality including posting, feed, and basic user interaction features
  • Integrate and manage cloud-based databases
  • Prepare, test, and manage deployment to Apple App Store and Google Play
  • Deliver work aligned to defined milestones, deliverables, and quality gates

Required Experience

  • College entry level for mobile application development
  • Demonstrated success independently building and launching mobile applications
  • Strong full-stack capability including backend/API and database development
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or AWS preferred
  • Ability to architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions

Engagement Structure

  • Hourly role through Ascend Tech Stars
  • Milestone-driven delivery model with defined expectations and stage-gate reviews
  • Fully remote engagement
  • Compensation package:  Hourly Rate of $55.00 to $65.00 per hour
  • Engagement Duration:  3 weeks maximum with progress gates built in weekly.  Must have working, demonstratable application working within this time frame.  Project length is negotiable upon successful choice of candidate 
  • Full run through of the details will be provided during the interview 

This will be the first step in the development of the mobile application with future development of features to come
