Student Specialist - Customer Service

Job description

Department  Global Admissions at Texas State University is seeking a dedicated Undergraduate Student Specialist - Customer Service team member beginning March 2026.  

Global Admissions serves the Undergraduate, Graduate, Online and International prospective student community in the US and beyond.  Our Global Admissions Customer Service department is an important team working to bring qualified applicants to our Texas State student body.

Supervisor This position reports directly to the  Coordinator - Global Admissions Customer Service

Job Description  In this role, you will manage prospective student inquiries in person, by phone and through email.  In addition, this position also assists in making calls to prospective students and supports our Processing unit when needed.

Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision in following directions. 

Communication: Effective communication skills. 

Proficiency: Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for representing Texas State University. 

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with familiarity or willingness to learn Banner & BDMS, Slate, Teams, and Canvas. 

Miscellaneous: Be willing to perform other job duties assigned.  

Work Schedule - The position requires availability to work Monday through Friday for 4 hours each day and the ability to adapt to changing workflow requirements. 

Employee Evaluation Process - Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of two-long semesters (fall-spring).

Payrate Determination - All student employees begin at the starting pay rate and may increase by 0.25 after two long semesters (fall-spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor using the Student Employee Career Readiness Evaluation form.
